Race weekend changes normal traffic patterns around Lake Robbins Drive, Town Center and portions of The Woodlands.

Save the parking and site maps before leaving home. On Saturday, plan to cross the course before 6 a.m. whenever possible, expect intermittent holds and follow every officer and posted sign.

Participants may leave pre- and post-race belongings at Bag Drop on Saturday morning, then reclaim them in the post-race zone.

  • All belongings must be collected by closing time.

More than 150 officers are positioned along the course. Their direction and temporary signage take priority over normal traffic patterns.

Before 6 a.m.

Cross the route early

If you need to travel across the race route, leave before 6 a.m. Expect delays from 6 a.m. through early afternoon.

6 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Allow extra time

Crossings are limited and controlled. Driving around the course is often faster than waiting at a crossing.

Use Waze

Use Waze for live navigation around closures and holds. Avoid the Lake Robbins Drive start and finish area unless attending the event.

Access maintained

Homes and businesses

Neighborhoods remain accessible, but residents and businesses may experience intermittent holds until runners clear.

Conditions can change as runners move through the course. Times are estimates; officers may hold or release traffic based on race conditions.

  • Westbound Research Forest Drive
  • Branch Crossing northbound and southbound
  • Woodlands Parkway eastbound and westbound
  • I-45 northbound and southbound
  • Kuykendahl Road southbound
6–11 a.m.

Lake Woodlands contra-flow

Westbound lanes carry eastbound traffic from Lake Front Circle to Palmer Green. Traffic travels both directions in separate lanes.

From 6:30–11 a.m., eastbound Lake Woodlands Drive is closed from Kuykendahl Road to Grogan’s Mill Road.

Approach from
the right direction.

During race operations, only residential traffic is recommended through and around the course.

  • The Woodlands Country Club: use the Lake Woodlands contra-flow lane from Grogan’s Mill, then turn right on Cochran’s Crossing.
  • Market Street & The Woodlands Mall: use Woodlands Parkway to I-45 north, then access Lake Woodlands Drive.
  • The Woodlands Resort: take I-45 to Woodlands Parkway west, U-turn at East Panther Creek, then return east to Grogan’s Mill.
  • Bear Branch Sports Park: take I-45 to Research Forest westbound.
